La Vigneronne

«La Vigneronne»

“The winemaker” (n. fem.)

Ever since 1790, generations of winemakers and artists have lived and worked at “La Vigneronne”, a historical winemaker’s house the midst of the Swiss Riviera.

Its most recent owner added successive layers of uncoordinated panels and fixtures. My desire was to strip the place of all unnecessary additions, letting the original character of the home shine again.

The redesign respects the building’s original wooden structure. The aim of my gentle interventions was to bring out a closed and forgotten skylight that transpierces the entire structure, infusing it with natural rays from above. Atmosphere evolves, lightening up each room at a different moment of the day.
